The mechanical polishing of export injection molds is a very meticulous manual work, so the technology of export injection mold polishing is still the main reason affecting the quality of mold polishing. In addition, it is also related to the export injection mold material, the surface condition before polishing and the heat treatment process. High-quality mold steel is a prerequisite for good polishing quality. If the surface hardness of the mold steel is uneven or the performance is different, various inclusions and pores in the mold steel are not conducive to polishing, even if it is polished by an experienced master. The effect is not good.

The throwing effect of different hardness of export injection mold steel is not the same. Although the hardness of the mold steel is high, the grinding difficulty increases and the polishing time consumes a lot, but the roughness will be reduced after polishing, and the polishing effect obtained is better. At the same time, hardness increases and the possibility of surface variations caused by overpolishing decreases accordingly. The pre-processing technology of the export injection mold also has a certain influence on the polishing. In the process of cutting the mold steel, the surface layer will be damaged by factors such as heat and internal stress. When cutting, the speed and feed rate must be relatively uniform, so as not to Affect the polishing effect of the export mold.

The EDM surface is more difficult to polish than the surface of ordinary cutting or heat treatment, so EDM finishing should be carried out before EDM is completed, otherwise a hardened layer will be formed. If the selection standard is not appropriate, the depth of the burning hardened layer can reach 0.4mm. The hardness of the hardened layer is higher than that of the steel body, so it should be removed as much as possible to lay a good foundation for subsequent polishing.
