Injection mold parts are machined from blanks. Whether the blank selection is reasonable or not has a great influence on the processing technology, quality and life of the mold parts. Profiles refer to bars, plates and other profiles of various cross-sections. This is the most widely used blank in mold parts, and it is sent to the processing workshop for surface processing after blanking. The main methods of cutting this material are shearing, sawing, grinding wheel cutting, flame cutting, breaking and so on.

2. Forgings. Forgings are billets that obtain reasonable geometric shapes and dimensions by forging profiles. Forging mainly includes axial heading, transverse heading and multi-directional heading.

The purpose of forging is to obtain a reasonable geometric shape and machining allowance, save raw materials, and reduce the amount of processing. Improve the state of metal structure, improve porosity and air bubbles, and increase density. Improve the direction of the metal fiber in the blank, make its distribution more reasonable, and improve the bearing capacity and performance of the part.

Improve the unreasonable state of carbide distribution in the material, improve heat treatment performance, machining performance and die life. 3. Castings. Commonly used castings in plastic molds include steel castings, iron castings, and aluminum castings.

The shape and size of the casting should meet the requirements of the casting drawings, and its chemical composition and mechanical properties should meet the requirements. The surface of the casting should be sand cleaned, and scars, flashes and burrs should be removed, and the residual height should not exceed 3 mm. Inside the casting, especially near the working surface, there should be no defects such as pores, sand holes, cracks, etc., and the non-working surface should not have serious porosity and large shrinkage cavities.

Castings should be heat treated in time, steel castings should be fully annealed, and iron castings should be treated in time to eliminate internal stress and improve processing performance. 4. Mold standard parts. With the development of mold specialization, more and more parts such as mold bases and templates appear in the form of commodities.

After using these mold standard parts, only the molding surface and related parts need to be processed, which greatly shortens the mold manufacturing cycle. With the development of mold technology, mold standard parts will be the mainstream direction of mold parts blanks.
